What is Keyword Density?

Keyword Density is the percentage of times a keyword or phrase appears on a web page compared to the total number of words on the page. In the context of search engine optimization (SEO), keyword density can be used to determine whether a web page is relevant to a specified keyword or keyword phrase.

What is the Ideal Keyword Density?

There is no exact "golden ratio," but most SEO experts recommend a keyword density between 1% and 2.5%.

  • Too Low (%0 - %0.5): Search engines might not understand what your content is about.
  • Too High (> %3-4): Use of keywords or numbers in a way that is unnatural or out of context (Keyword Stuffing) can lead to penalties from Google.

How Does This Tool Work?

Our Online Keyword Density Checker analyzes the text you paste. It filters out "Stop Words" (common words like the, and, or). It then calculates the frequency of the remaining meaningful words and lists the most used ones. It warns you about high-density words (>4%) by highlighting them in red.
